He boasts a MSc and PhD in Statistics from Montana State University, and a B.S in Mathematics from KNUST. His theoretical knowledge is fortified by extensive practical experience in the application of machine learning techniques and big data methodologies.

At PNNL, his work encompasses the development of guidance and analysis tools for federal sponsors, which involves the implementation of advanced spatial interpolation methods, machine learning models, and big data collection and analysis. He adeptly uses these tools to enhance statistical decision-making capabilities, offering innovative solutions to an extensive array of challenges spanning environmental, biological, and engineering fields.

With his expertise in machine learning and big data, Dr. Obiri effectively combines statistical science with complex data sets, delivering insights that help navigate various security and scientific challenges. Dr. Obiri is also responsible for data mining, generation, storage techniques, machine learning, and data analysis methods at ImpactSolution. As the lead in these domains, he develops software solutions tailored to address specific client requirements.
